Assistant Swim Coach Wanted

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Swim Coach to join our team and support the development of our swimmers.

Requirements:

 • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience coaching with a swim team.

 • Former competitive swimmer or strong ability to swim and teach all four strokes.

 • Ability to coach age group swimmers (ages 4–18).

 • Knowledge of swimming rules and regulations for competitions.

 • Proficiency in teaching starts, turns, and finishes.

 • Ability to demonstrate and teach at least 4–5 drills per stroke.

 • Solid knowledge of training principles, including biomechanics and physiology, with the ability to design practices that combine technical development with appropriate training loads.

 • Willingness to attend weekend swim meets (on average once a month or every other month).

 • Team-oriented, collaborative, and open to sharing ideas with fellow coaches.

 • Ability to occasionally assist with our Swim Learn program.

 • Must hold valid Lifeguard and CPR certification.

 • ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) Certification required.

 • USA Swimming Coaching Certification preferred. If not currently certified, candidates must obtain all required USA Swimming credentials within the first month of employment.

Work Hours:

 • Monday to Thursday, 4:00–6:00 pm

 • Occasional Friday practices may be scheduled.

 • Additional hours required for swim meets.

Preferred Qualities:

 • Adequate communication skills with swimmers and parents.

 • Positive energy and ability to act as a role model for young athletes.

 • Experience designing and delivering structured swim workouts.

 • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development.
