TRUCKING COMPANY ACCOUNTING
The Accounting is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting in a small business environment. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements as well as supervising the Accounts Receivable Clerk. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation. The Accounting Supervisor will have contact with all levels of management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
General Accounting Functions
Supervise Accounts Receivable Clerk
Make bank deposits
Serve as liaison with banking institution
Support human resources as back up with payroll preparation and processing
Renew and manage business licenses
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Education and Experience
Four year college degree, preferred, in Accounting or Finance
At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience preferred
3 to 5 years of related experience in accounting and finance required
